After breaking the British siege of Orleans, Joan of Arc launched a surprise attack at Patay. The French army drove the English forces from the Loire Valley and Lord John Talbot was captured.

  • In the days following the victory at Patay, the French peasantry were roused to engage in guerilla warfare against the English.

  • Joan of Arc would next lead the French in victories at Troyes, Chalons, and Rheims.
